Feel Good Yoga for every body! In this Slow Flow Yoga class, we will breath and stretch while building strength and practicing balance. Mixed levels. Everyone is welcome--vegans, future vegans, and nonvegans. This free series is a service project for a 300-hour yoga training.
Optional props include yoga blocks, strap, and blanket. If you don't have those props, no worries. You can use thick books instead of blocks, a towel or belt instead of a strap, and any old sturdy blanket or pillow.
Why Yoga for Vegans? This series is an offering of love for the vegan community. Through our practice together we will recognize each other as beacons of light and hope for a vegan world.
About Christine
Hello! I'm Christine, an author, health coach, and yoga teacher. I have devoted myself to a vegan lifestyle and studying its benefits to human health, the environment, and animals since 2005.
After becoming a yoga teacher in 2008, I joined the faculty of the Global Yoga Center’s Teacher Training program in Chicago from 2008-2013, where I taught yoga teachers about the connection between diet and yoga–more specifically ahiṃsā (non-harming)–the first precept of the eight limbs of yoga. I'm continuing my studies with Janet Stone's 300-hour yoga teacher training.
Born and raised in Indiana, I hold a Bachelor of Arts in journalism from Indiana University, Bloomington and a Master of Arts in Humane Education through the Institute for Humane Education in partnership with Antioch University New England. I currently live in Madison, Wisconsin with my husband, two cats, and a dog, all three of which were adopted from shelters.
